Following Christ is about discovering and doing everything that Jesus said...

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says." - James 1:22

Sample Salvation Prayer

Don't listen to the lies of the enemy!  Regardless of your past mistakes, you can become a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:  The old has gone, the new is here!"

Romans 10:9-10 says "If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."  The below prayer is one way to ask Jesus into your life or just pray in your own words accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior

"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be."

If you sincerely prayed the above prayer or asked Jesus into your heart in your own words, congratulations! You are a new creation and have started your new life as a follower of Jesus Christ. Your sins (past, present and future) are fully paid for.  This is incredibly good news considering that the wage of sin is death (Romans 6:23).  You no longer have to fear death as you have been promised eternal life (John 8:51) in Heaven by someone that has never broken a promise and never will.
